With the recent release of Kinetic 2024.1 and protected customizations, the game has changed. This update has opened an exciting new frontier in Epicor for creating and distributing intellectually protected customizations. While consulting has long been the go-to for developing custom Epicor solutions, these changes mark the beginning of a new era where protected customizations can serve many customers instead of being used as one-off solutions.
Protected customizations come with a challenge: you can't see the underlying code. You're relying on a "black box" solution, unsure of how it's built, whether it's secure, or how it will interact with future updates. The risks of installing unvetted customizations can cost you valuable time to troubleshoot, corrupt data, or even bring production to a standstill.
Whether you're a local shop or a multi-company operation, we launched this idea to give businesses a platform where they can confidently invest in protected customizations. Our commitment to you:
With the EpiAppStore, you know exactly what you're investing in. Eliminate the guesswork and risk of "black box" solutions.

I'm Eric Hebbard, founder of the EpiAppStore and owner of Hebb Technologies. If you attended Epicor Insights in Nashville, you might remember me as the guy rocking a big cast, or perhaps you spotted me as one of the few North Americans at Epicor Insights in Europe.
I've had the privilege of presenting at key Epicor events like the 2023 Epicor Insights, where I shared my journey developing a custom Salesforce integration and leading a hugely successful Kinetic implementation. I've also taken the stage at Epicor Users Group meetings to unpack cloud migration strategies and shared extensive Automation Studio projects at the Manufacturing Virtual Summit.
My mission with the EpiAppStore is two-fold: (1) to create a foundation for secure, reliable, and transparent software, setting the stage for Epicor customers to grow confidently and securely using protected customizations and (2) to empower a new wave of developers to innovate and contribute to the Epicor ecosystem and accelerate the evolution of Epicor tools, driving the community to new heights.
